Dear Industry Members,

Greetings from Medical Value Travel Council of India.

Medical Value Travel Council of India is the result of discussions and consultations between various members of the Global and Indian Medical & Wellness Tourism eco-system. With the impact of the COVID-19 in each country growing, the Vaccine research underway, International flights completely stopped, the patients in need of treatment became an unexpected casualty. With the pandemic hitting the complete Medical & Wellness Tourism industry, we were in continuous co-ordination with our partners in Africa, Middle East, South East Asia and other key target markets over the strategy for the sector. On the other hand, we were also in continuous touch with the Tourism Ministry in selected States and deliberating on strategies to promote India as the destination for Medical & Wellness Tourism.

On one hand while the pandemic has left all of us reeling over the impact, it has also provided a reason to converge on a common goal, creating a strategy for Medical & Wellness Tourism for India. A common platform for communication and coordination was mutually identified as the need of the hour. We decided to take a lead and initiate creation of an organization focusing on engaging various Global partners and India. “Necessity is the Mother of Invention” is apt for the current situation.

Thus, Medical Value Travel Council of India was created to address this need. We envisage that we will be able to bring the Government focus, Global partners and Medical & Wellness Tourism service providers including – Hospitals, Clinic, Doctors, Tour Operators, Hotels, Hospitality services, Logistics, Airlines, Embassies and any other key eco-system players together.

We hope that with the support of all the partners, Medical Value Travel Council of India will serve the industry to create a better roadmap and is instrumental in building India as the Medical & Wellness Tourism destination.

Dear Industry Members,

Greetings from Medical Value Travel of India.

Being part of Medical Value Travel facilitator community, we are all facing the current business and financial stress. With no immediate hopes of revival from the pandemic, the industry is now poised for a long haul to getting back to business to pre-COVID times. From Hotels, Hospitals, Tour Operators to Facilitators, no one from the Medical & Wellness Tourism eco-system globally has been able to escape this nightmare.

With Medical tourism destinations like Thailand and Turkey, India has been continuously facing stiff competition to attract patients. In this pandemic situation, it has become more important to take more collaborative efforts and engage with each other to face the crisis.

Medical Value Travel Council of India has been created with the objective to collaborate and create the opportunity for Indian industry to revive the segment. The Council is currently in collecting various feedbacks and inputs from various strategic partners across the world to create an extensive strategy for Medical & Wellness Tourism in India.

With the great support from the Indian healthcare industry, we are confident to bounceback in a more efficient way and with a concrete plan of action which can be led by the Council.

We thank you for being a part of our journey.
